Quick-plug Power Storage Connector

Of course, the installation and maintenance cost of copper bar connection is much higher than that of quick plug, which requires manual on-site installation and is not safe from electric shock.

 

Quick-plug technology presents more advantages, starting with anti-shock function, which is clearly stipulated in the latest UL4128 standard for static energy storage systems. The anti-misinsertion of the positive and negative electrodes also increases the security of the connected devices, which is much higher than that of the copper bar connection in structure. Convenient installation is needless to say, but the cost of equipment will naturally be higher. The problem of weak consistency is unavoidable for quickplug technology. In the part of terminal structure, the internal structure of its design determines that its consistency is a little weak. Moreover, in the design process of quickplug technology, the margin must be enlarged, and the consistency of connection resistance cannot fluctuate.

 

Quick-plug technology generally gives the connector enough rotation Angle to facilitate quick installation and further save wiring space, which is also conducive to multi-directional wiring. To further improve installation security, visual locking control mechanisms and finger protection contacts can be added; In order to ensure the accuracy of the connection process, an efficient mechanical coding system is also incorporated into the connector. The time and cost saved by quick plugging is well worth it.

One of the main goals of energy storage system ESS is higher capacity. In the past, ESS was usually powered by 200 A/800V DC. Now the application trend is towards higher energy density, and the demand for 300 A/1200V DC and larger specification interface transmission is growing. Under this trend, many connector manufacturers are developing 300 A modules to provide power, data, and signals to ESS in parallel in multi-module interfaces.

 

Amphenol's BarKlip series, for example, has rated current of up to 160A/200A/300A/400A/500A for each terminal under different modules, with terminal position guarantee (TPA) function and a variety of coding options; HARTING's Han 300A series, which is reverse-compatible with mature 200A modules, can be connected directly to a bus or integrated into a drawer type energy storage unit. Liandong Electronics, a domestic manufacturer, has been laying out energy storage connection devices for many years, and its CNZZ series can cover 120A to 400A high-power connection. Kuake also recently revealed that it has accumulated a lot in energy storage connection, and the data information given on the official website has not yet explained the specific level of current capability to support.

 

The rated current of the energy storage connector of fast-plug technology should be 1.3 to 1.4 times the standard current when selecting, leaving a certain margin. Of course, the premise of high power is safety, reliability and high consistency.
