Lightning Connector and type c, Which is better?  Now, on mobile phones and even electronic devices, the most mainstream USB interfaces are lightning and type c. Lightning is a proprietary interface for Apple's equipment, which is not available on other brands of equipment; and type c interface is widely used. , not only used in different brands of electronic equipment, but also widely used in different equipment. So which is better between lightning interface and type c, let's share the advantages and disadvantages of lightning interface and type c.

Features of Lightning:

Advantages: Regardless of the pros and cons, this is an almost trans-generational experience of the Lightning interface at that time; the small size and the disappearance of the headphone jack made the device thinner and lighter; it supports audio signal transmission, making up for the pain of canceling the headphone jack. Even now, it's a good experience.

Disadvantages: 1. The maximum output of the data cable of the Apple Lightning connector can reach 5V/2A, that is, the maximum power is 5*2=10W. Even if you buy the official 18W PD fast charging and dedicated data cable, the charging speed is very general.

2. The configuration price related to iPhone Lightning is relatively expensive. Other brands have their own high-power fast charging chargers, while Apple needs to purchase additional DP chargers and Apple MFI-certified USB Type-C to lightning data cables, adding a cost.

Features of Type C:

Advantages: Type-C is much better in performance than the previous Micro-USB. First of all, everyone thinks that Type-C is easy to use because charging does not need to consider the direction of the plug.

Disadvantages:

1. Type-C does not mean that data transmission will be faster

Type-C supports faster data transfer speeds and refers to an interface that also complies with the USB 3.1 standard. Many devices that use the Type C interface now do not adopt the USB 3.1 standard, only the appearance has changed. Moreover, the high transmission speed of USB Type C can easily bring important data insecurity, such as data plagiarism.

2. Type-C is not compatible with existing Micro USB devices

If you are using a mobile phone with a Type-C interface, you happen to lose the data cable that comes with it, and you only have a Micro USB interface data cable at home, it is very helpless.

3. Type-C accessories are relatively expensive

Type-C accessories are more expensive than products with ordinary interfaces, and most of the USB Type C data cables on the market only support USB2.0. Supporting USB 3.0 has higher requirements for cables and costs big.

Difference between Lightning interface and Type C interface

1. Different data interfaces

Type-c is a new form of USB interface, which integrates functions such as charging, display, and data transmission. It is the interface adopted by many brand equipment manufacturers at present.

Lightning is Apple's proprietary USB interface, which can only be seen on Apple devices, and cannot be equipped by other manufacturers!

2. The appearance of the pins is different

type-c: The interface contains 4 pins dedicated to power supply and grounding. It can support up to 20V voltage and 5A current.

Lightning: There are 8 pins on each side, and the white part insulates these pins from each other. The outermost metal actually plays a grounding function, so strictly speaking, the Lightning interface uses a 9Pin design.

3. The charging speed is different

In terms of charging, Type-C is superior to Lightning. The technical principle of data transmission is Serial Communication. In the technical principle of charging communication, Type-C has a high-power PD charging protocol.

In terms of transmission speed, the USB 3.1 Gen 2 version supported by Type-C has a maximum bandwidth of up to 10Gbps; the encoding method is changed to 128b/132b, which reduces the encoding loss from 20% of the original 3.0 to 3%; supports up to 100W charging, and supports bidirectional Charging; video output up to 4K resolution; support for bells and whistles.
