What are the common faults of aviation plugs

Aviation plugs, also known as aviation plugs and connectors, are important interconnection equipment and are widely used in aerospace, intelligent manufacturing, automation, rail transit, medical equipment, communications construction and other fields. During daily use, there are often common faults such as loose aviation plugs, poor connector insulation, and poor fixation. The equipment interconnected by connectors tends to be more precise, which puts forward higher requirements for the quality, stability and safety of connectors. Even minor and common faults should be solved in time.

Loose aviation plugs

Electronic components shaped like aviation plugs are more prone to loose connections. Connectors are interconnected by means of push-pull locking, nut locking, snap-fit, etc. If the operation is improper, it is likely to cause loosening problems.

When the aviation plug fails, the first question to consider is whether the connection is tight and whether there is looseness. When checking, it is necessary to check all relevant aviation plugs one by one. The possible reasons for the looseness of the aviation plug are: the overall design of the aviation plug is unscientific; the use of raw materials is incorrect; the abrasive tool is not stable, and there are deviations in the production and processing specifications; the surface of the connector is not smooth; ; Poor assembly. The above reasons may cause the connection part of the aviation plug to be unable to fit tightly, thereby causing the problem of loosening.

If the usual maintenance is not good, the aviation plug is stored in a harsh environment, which may cause damage and corrosion of the connecting part of the aviation plug. Once the connection part is damaged, it cannot be repaired and must be replaced.

Poor insulation of aviation plugs/connectors

During the application of the national standard aviation plug, the problem of poor insulation may be caused by the following reasons:

1. There may be unnecessary metal materials on the surface or inside of conductors and insulators;

2. The surface of the connector is covered with air pollutants such as dust and flux;

3. The organic chemical raw material dissolved matter and hazardous gas adsorption film combine with surface shrinkage water to produce ionized conductive safety channel;

4. The connector is damp, moldy, and the insulating layer material is brittle.

These factors may cause the characteristics of the aviation plug to be unstable, resulting in safety hazards such as short circuit fault, power failure, thermal breakdown, and poor grounding resistance, and the unsafe elements of the connector increase. When encountering this fault, the work must be terminated immediately, and the cause of the fault of the insulation layer of the connector must be found.

The fault of the poor insulation layer of the aviation plug can be solved by the following methods:

1. If the insulating layer material is unqualified, replace it with a new one immediately;

2. If it is caused by incorrect operation or poor maintenance, then the application and safeguards should be improved;

3. If it is caused by environmental hazards, such as: application in a wet, cold and corrosive natural environment, safeguards must be taken to prevent unnecessary damage.

The problem of poor fixation of aviation plug/connector

The poor fixation of the aviation plug will cause the power supply to be turned off in an instant, or cause the equipment to be abnormal, and the electromagnetic energy transmission and data signal of the automatic control system will be terminated. Changing the installation method can generally prevent this problem. When the connector is installed, the operation steps should be strictly followed to keep the tightness of the connector and the device.

Factors such as poor selection of forming process, incorrect material selection, and poor quality of abrasive tools and assembly lines will also lead to poor fixation of the aviation plug.
