Patch panel guide

A patch panel is the most important component of the management subsystem, and it is the hub that realizes the cross-connection of the two subsystems, vertical trunk, and horizontal wiring. It is usually installed in a cabinet or wall. By installing accessories, the patch panel can fully meet the needs of UTP, STP, coaxial cable, optical fiber, audio and video.
Type of patch panel:
Commonly used patch panels in network engineering are twisted-pair patch panels and fiber-optic patch panels. According to different places and uses, it is divided into two categories: main patch panel and intermediate patch panel.
1.The twisted pair patch panel
Twisted-pair patch panels are mostly used for horizontal wiring. The front panel is used to connect the RJ-45 port of the hub device, and the rear panel is used to connect the twisted pair cable extended from the information socket. Twisted-pair patch panels are mainly available in 24 and 48 ports. In a shielded wiring system, a shielded twisted pair patch panel should be selected to ensure the integrity of the shielded system.
2. Fiber optic terminal box
Optical fiber terminal boxes are used to terminate optical cables and are mostly used for vertical wiring and building group wiring. According to different structures, fiber optic terminal boxes can be divided into wall-mounted and rack-mounted. The wall-mounted type can be directly fixed on the wall, generally a box structure, and is suitable for places where the number of optical cables and the number of optical fiber cores are small. The rack type can be directly installed in a standard cabinet, which is suitable for a large-scale optical fiber network.
Patch panel features:
- Made of SPCC (generally cold-rolled carbon steel sheet and steel strip), which is sturdy and durable;
- Port contact is gold-plated and sensitive to induction;
- Each port has a digital coding design for easy installation and management;
- No wiring required, simple installation and flexible application;
- With detachable cable manager and flexible cable management structure, easy to install and uninstall;
- The rear cable management design can better fix and identify the cables.
In addition to the types of network patch panels mentioned above, there is also a ladder slot network patch panel. The trapezoidal slot network patch panel has 24 ports, which is flexible; each port uses a coded serial number design for easy installation and management; behind it is a metal cable management ring design, which can fix cables and facilitate management, making the cabinet more Beautiful; materials are made of first-grade cold-rolled steel, one-piece molding, sturdy and durable; both use groove card design, which can be embedded in many types of information modules.
